2. What data we process and when
The BIM Compass website does not contain a contact form and does not store visitor enquiries in a database.
If you contact us directly by email, we may process the information you include in your message, such as your name, email address, company, job title and information about a project, enquiry or potential cooperation.
When you visit the website, our hosting provider may also automatically process basic technical information necessary to operate and protect the website, such as your IP address, date and time of access, browser or device information and security-related technical data.
We do not ask you to provide special categories of personal data through the website.
3. Purposes and legal bases for processing
We may process information contained in email correspondence for the following purposes:
responding to enquiries and conducting business communication — on the basis of our legitimate interest in communicating with people interested in BIM Compass, under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR;
taking steps before entering into a contract or performing a contract — where your communication concerns, for example, a quotation, potential engagement or specific project, under Article 6(1)(b) GDPR;
establishing, exercising or defending legal claims — where necessary on the basis of our legitimate interests under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR.
Technical information associated with the operation of the website may be processed on the basis of our legitimate interest in ensuring its security, stability and proper functioning.
We do not rely on marketing consent simply in order to respond to an ordinary email enquiry.
4. How long we keep data
We retain information contained in correspondence for as long as necessary to handle the relevant enquiry or conduct discussions concerning potential cooperation.
If cooperation is established, information may be retained for the duration of that relationship and afterwards for as long as required by applicable law or reasonably necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
Where an enquiry does not lead to cooperation, information may be retained for a period reasonably necessary to maintain an appropriate record of business correspondence and protect against potential claims, after which it is deleted where no further legal basis for processing exists.
Technical logs associated with operation of the website are retained in accordance with the configuration and policies of our hosting provider for as long as necessary to maintain the security and proper functioning of the website.
